Jeff Fisher is the head football coach of the Los Angeles Rams and he is supposed to do everything possible to make them a better team. He isn't doing a very good job at that this year, the Rams are 3-5 with four straight losses. Jeff Fisher decided at the start of the season to start Case Keenum over the number one pick Jared Goff.
The Rams gave up a king's ransom to get Goff, have him as the leader of their team and make him a franchise QB is their goal with Mr Goff. Let me get this straight, you give up two firsts, two seconds, and two thirds all in the next two years, to start Case Keenum. How much better is Keenum than Goff? Apparently not good enough to start over the awful Keenum.
You might ask why not start Goff? Fisher needs to come to his senses and start the number one pick. Even if the Rams know from watching him in practice that he is horrible and they messed up. They probably don't think that but even if.
Goff is going to be the starter out in LA for the foreseeable future, start him now. Fisher needs to do the right thing and start him. I cannot imagine what Goff's confidence level is like right now. Watching abysmal quarterback play every week while you stand helplessly on the sidelines hoping Coach Fisher puts you in the game. Everyone on the coaching staff should feel silly watching this go down. Goff glued to the bench while Keenum sucks it up out there.
They won't play him until their playoff hopes are officially crushed. That makes no sense. The Rams defense is good, with alright QB play they are potentially a playoff team. You can look around the NFL and see examples of that, the Broncos just won the Super Bowl with mediocre QB play. That's not saying the Rams will be launched into Super Bowl contention with a switch at QB, they will suck less and could have had a shot at the playoffs.
Jeff Fisher, do the right thing. Stop being stubborn and start your brand new potential franchise QB. It is honestly the only option that makes sense.
