This question seems dumb and vague but I'm going to take in all aspects of being the "best" player. This includes potential, hitting, fielding and speed. This will be a running blog where I will pick one person per day to argue as the best player on the Red Sox.
Today I will argue for David Price..
David Price inked a 7-year 217 million dollar contact in free agency this year. This makes him greatly the most highly paid player on the Red Sox. That has to count for something, right? Price has been commonly one to be in the All-star game and in the hunt for the Cy Young award. He has endured incredible seasons with the Rays, the Tigers and the Blue Jays. I guess he loves the AL East! Price isn't having a great year for the Red Sox but seems to have found it lately. He is far and away the Red Sox best pitcher and is the ace of the very talented Red Sox team. Through 130 innings, Price has 141 strikeouts which is amazing. He is one of the pitchers that can keep you in and win your team a 1-0 ballgame without his best stuff that night.
The case for Price is strong. And Red Sox fans, get off Prices ass. He will find it. It's only a matter of time.
