Okay so it's not a game that I'm particularly excited to watch considering we constantly get smashed but The Boys From Above (that's what I like to call them). The US had a pretty literal golden opportunity back in 2010 but let's quickly move past that...
We only have a couple glorious moments to hold over the Canadians, like when Gary Suter crosschecked Wayne The Great One Gretzky back in the Canada Cup in '91, or the actually Gold Medal our boys won after beating them in 1960. But the tastiest victory was in the 1996 World Cup of Hockey when we stole a victory on their own damn soil (let's not talk about how they smashed us in 2002 on our soil though).
The point is, this game is mega important. I know I said I wasn't particularly excited but j lied. I can't friggen wait. I just hope it's not refereed by more damn Canadians this time. Let's not forget that in 2010 AND 2014 the refs both times were all Canadian. I'm not saying that's why we lost but that's pretty much why we lost.
History says it's our turn. Canada has had this coming. America OWNS the World Cup of Hockey. And I can't wait to see them win it all.
