The Patriots are far and away the best team in the AFC. If they are able to keep everyone healthy, they will be in the Super Bowl unless someone steps up. They are loaded on offense and defense. They also have that best kicker in the NFL, kicking in the NFL is important, people forget that. Who can challenge them?
The Steelers could challenge them on offense. Not on offense. Antonio Brown put up great numbers week one last season against Butler. But Butler has grown as a player and can handle Brown better. Bell also is suspended the first four games of the season which hurts them. But when was the last time the Steelers won a big playoff game? When was the last time they beat the Patriots? If the Steelers come into Foxboro and play the Patriots I simply cannot see them winning.
Von Miller and Paxton Lynch are leading the Broncos to their title defense but they are not going to be contending. They have no offense even though I'm a huge Paxton guy and their defense will not be able to carry them all the way again. Not happening. People say that they "just need average QB play to win it all again". Nope. They are not going to challenge, they might not even win their division.
Everyone is talking how The Raiders are going to be legit. They aren't going to challenge in the AFC, come on now.
Hue Jackson is gone, Marvin Jones and Mohamed Sanu are gone. Marvin Lewis is still there so The Bengals aren't making it out of the first round. Too much lost to make a run to the Super Bowl.
Andrew Luck is back, Chuck Pagano is stll there. The Colts did not really do anything to improve their roster. They lost Coby FLeener, and are working Darius Butler at safety instead of corner. They aren't going to win the division so thy aren't contending. The Texans and The Jags might win the division but are not beating the Patriots.
Thee you have it, no one except for possibly the Steelers can challenge the Pats.
