Bryan Stork and Nate Washington were cut Wednesday morning. Washington has not been good. Last week he played in the fourth quarter and has only had ten catches throughout all of training camp. He was thought to actually make the team when he was signed but he's dusty and he's gone now.
Washington has had a tough time trying to make the team because of how good Dobson has looked. The Patriots have four roster locks at receiver and Keshawn Marti could also be thought of as a lock.
Bryan Stork started throughout the Patriots Super Bowl run in 2014. However, he has had his fair share of concussions, four in four years. He is also quite the hot head, repeatedly being involved in fights during games and practices. He's been kicked out of two practices this summer. David Andrews has also improved a lot this off season and has taken Stork's starting center job. The release may be a surprise to people who follow other teams but it has been talked about for a week or two now that he was the odd man out. Also, Jeff Howe says that Andrews is Tom Brady's preferred center.
People will be asking the question, "Why didn't they trade him instead of cutting him for nothing?". Well, there must have been no market for him. The Bears were said to be in the market for a center but the concussion prone center probably didn't do it for them.
This seems to have opened up the roster spot for Cameron Fleming or Ted Karras. Karras has played all three positions on the line but mostly has been working at center and guard according to Phil Perry. His versatility could be valuable enough to land him on the 53.
