The New England Patriots were heavy underdogs last night, like +9.5 underdogs. Without some of their best players they shocked the Super Bowl hopeful Cardinals. I mean the Patriots are Super Bowl hopefuls too but the team was different last night.
Down Brady, Gronk, Solder, and Nink they were not supposed to win that game.
Brady was wrongfully suspended. He should be playing the first four weeks but I'm over it. Jimmy stepped up and did exactly what he needed to do to get the win. Blount was also good except for his fumble. The Patriots allowed 14 points off turnovers.
Amendola didn't get much work on offense which I found strange. He was huge during a couple drives though. He needs to get way more playing time. Malcolm Mitchell was great. Mitchell did everything you needed him to do. It was so supervising because of the injury e came back from so soon. A dislocated elbow and came back in a month. Chris Hogan also had a solid debut while catching Jimmy's first TD.
But when it came right down to it, ball didn't lie. Ball knows that Brady should be playing the first four. This is the first win on their road to 4-0 without him. Ball never lies.
The defense was great. They played at an extremely high level. Except ft Larry Fitz and one run by David Johnson, everyone was bottled up. Hightower looked unreal while blitzing. He was pretty much unblockable. Chris Long had two sacks which was huge. A seem less replacement for Chandler Jones.
The offensive line was good enough for my liking. Cannon was good as was Andrews. Thuney looked really solid for a rookie while Ted Karras was alright but you expected him to be bad. Shaq Mason outplayed him understandably so when he stepped in at certain points. Mason will absolutely take that spot back when he is ready.
There is no reason to believe that Jimmy can't lead them to 4-0. If he does, local media will go crazy. Buckle up.
