Every Sunday morning during football season millions of people all across the country set their fantasy football lineups. Some just go on and put players in their lineup without knowing anything about anything. The people that bother me are the people that go on Twitter and tweet their lineup problems at either the ESPN fantasy show or the NFLN show hoping they spend a second talking about it and give the people what they want. “Hey I have a flex problem in a PPR league, Jeremy Hill or Danny Woodhead?” That is the thing that kills me every week. I used to ask lineup questions at one particular fantasy writer hoping for a response. Those days have come and gone. Now I look at the people that do it like fools. Why are you asking these “experts”? I’m not saying that the “experts” don’t do their research because they do, they are paid to do so and paid well.
But I don’t get why people put faith in them. They do it, then get mad when the “expert” picked the wrong guy to start. So why not do it yourself? I have never been burnt by any “experts” before so I’m not butt hurt. I’m just saying don’t put faith in them because the knowledge distance isn’t far.
Do people just ask lineup questions because they think that the “experts” know what is going to happen during the games? They don’t know so what ask them.
People use the advise they get from experts as scape goats for taking an L in fantasy. But these “experts” don’t know all that much more than the general population, in my opinion. The Michael Fabianos of the world are not all that much more qualified to tell you who to start than your neighbor.
They get up on the stage at NFLN and give their best guess and state obvious facts as to why one player is better than the other. I was watching the top 50 player of Fantasy Football or whatever it is called and they just say obvious facts.
The only thing you need in fantasy is a magazine or two to prepare for the draft, a cheat sheet with notes you wrote for the draft, and the actually pay attention.
Stop putting blind faith into the “experts” and actually think for yourself
