I saw this on Twitter last night and it sparked a debate in my brain.
My initial thought at seeing this was,
Max: Giannis
Trade: Draymond
Waive: Kristaps
Then I thought about it again. How could I possibly waive Kristaps after what he did last year, in his first year? And how could I trade Draymond, who is one the most consistent triple-double players in the league. There is no way that I could answer this question without being somewhat disappointed by my choices.
My final decison is,
Max: Giannis
Trade a first for: Kristaps
Waive: Green
Purely because of age and unique skill sets. Giannis is 21 years old and he is going into his age 21 season... I mean cmon, that's ridiculous. Antetokounmpo average 16.9 PPG , 7.7 REB per game and 4.3 AST per game. AND HE IS 21!!!!! Not only this but Giannis is one of the best defenders in the NBA with a massive wingspan of 7'4 when he was 18. He can cover all postions from SG to PF. This is a unique skill set rarely found. He can create his own shot and do it effortlessly.
Kristaps is a monster. At the age of 21, he stands at 7'3 with a wingspan of 7'6. He can shoot from anywhere on the court and hit them consistently. He has the ability to create his own shot, shoot of the dribble, catch and shoot and drive. This is never found from a man that is 7'3. He did a good job bulking up last season after the draft but I would still like to see more size. His skill set is IMPOSSIBLE to find. Anywhere, you will probably never see it again for 10+ years. He is very similar to Dirk in the sense he can shoot from anywhere but he is bigger and a better rebounder. I would trade a first for him IN A HEARTBEAT!
Draymond Green is probably a top 10-20 player in the league. But I just couldn't let Kristaps and Giannis go. Draymond is a game changer. A triple double machine. But I could pass the other 2 up. Him being 26 does have something to do with it. But 26 is still young. He can cover every single position on the court and do it well. This is the best skill set he has.
When asking the the other writers on this site. They replied...
Chris Lehan:

Waive: Kristaps
Trevor Flaim: (Hates Giannis, thinks he is "fake")
Max: Green

Waive: Giannis
Shawn Anzalone:
Max: Porzingis
Trade for: Giannis
Waive: Green
Brendan Mclaughlin:
